Last week, we were again honoured and proud to attend Cleeve School's achievement evening. We really did come away feeling inspired by so many young people being recognised by the school for their various high achievements.
We were particularly proud to meet Will Harries; this year’s recipient of the Andrew Foster award for Outstanding Effort in Outdoor Education. Will recently completed his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) award which is a fantastic achievement for any student. But having Cerebral Palsy, Will faces additional physical challenges and through his own determination, and support from his group, successfully completed his expedition including hiking a considerable distance.
Will is described by his teachers as a remarkable young man who has a wonderfully kind and positive personality. In his volunteering section, for example, he helped renovate the community hall at his local village. In addition, Will also participated in a case study for DofE South West to demonstrate how he managed to do all this and give advice to other DofE leaders as to how best to support other students with disabilities. Will also picked up three other academic awards over the course of the evening.
Please join us from all at Cam and Bear in congratulating Will on his brilliant achievements; a truly inspirational young man and fantastic role model.
We look forward to continuing working with Cleeve School and supporting more students in the future.
