‘Even the loftiest mountains begin on the ground’

A very fitting Moroccan proverb!

We are so pleased to be supporting Carys from North Wales on her expedition to Morocco next year. Carys is one of small number from her school that will be will be hiking in Morocco, including ascending a 4000m plus peak, and participating in a local community school project to help improve the school’s facilities.

We were very impressed and moved by Carys’ application. Whilst the Morocco expedition had been an annual trip run by the school for a number of years, it stopped a couple of years ago as the teacher that used to lead the expedition retired. However, Carys and others were so keen and determined to do the trip that they managed to persuade the teacher concerned to come out of retirement for one more trip in 2020!

As part of her application, Carys mentioned that she was inspired by her older cousin; Elisha, who had completed the same trip in 2015. Tragically however, a year after that expedition, Elisha was diagnosed with a rare cancer and sadly passed away the same year. Carys would very much like to share that same experience in Morocco that Elisha had and so Cam and Bear are delighted, and honoured to help Carys achieve this. We know grief is a constant and our thoughts are with all of Elisha’s family.

Please join us in wishing Carys all the very best and success for the trip, and we look forward to hearing all about her fantastic adventure (together with lots of photos) next summer.
