FUNDING APPEAL

Please help us to raise more funds so that we can continue to help disadvantaged young people experience and reap the benefits of outdoor educational activities. If you are due to do a sponsored event or are a business seeking a charity partner focussed on youth development, please consider choosing Cam & Bear Fund for Adventure as your chosen charity.

We believe that access to outdoor education through schemes such as the The Duke of Edinburgh, Outward Bounds and other youth groups, should be available to all young people. Cam and Bear are dedicated to supporting this goal. Participation in such schemes can really help shape and transform young peoples lives by broadening perspectives and ambition, building self confidence and contributing to social economic mobility.

We typically support young people that receive Pupil Premium or who’s family’s are facing financial challenges and simply can not afford participation in Outdoor Educational activities. Over the 8 years we’ve been operating, we have worked with dozens of schools and youth groups, and supported hundreds of young people to participate in, and benefit from outdoor adventures.

Last year, we were delighted that we could help Caitlin complete her Duke of Edinburgh journey, when she completed her Gold Expedition canoeing on the Rivers Wye and Severn. Caitlin’s ambition in life is to become a doctor, and she was already putting in voluntary hours at a local Hospice as well as securing work experience at a Hospital. Caitlin was contributing her own earnings from a part time job and received some Sixth Form bursary, but without our help (your donations) simply wouldn’t have been able to afford to complete the expedition and achieve her Gold award. A fantastic achievement and we wish Caitlin all the best in achieving her ambitions.

Please do consider supporting us and helping provide opportunities disadvantaged young people to benefit from Outdoor Education and Activities.
